Which place is better to ski in colorado?

help.... i cant decide where to go skiing and its driving me crazy. which place has the best mountains, the biggest mountains, the most stuff to do, has the best views and gets the most snow around the month of february? i know its a little too soon to be wondering which is better but i like to know as soon as possible. i get things organized quick. the last place i went skiing was at nakiska in the canadian rocky mountains and i guess i have high standards for the colorado mountains. the mountains in nakiska were huge and surrounded by other huge mountains. the places i heard that were decent are steamboat, breckenridge, vail, winter park, snow mass, copper mountain, cooper, and aspen mountain. location really isnt a problem and this is my only ski trip for the year so i want to make sure i go to the best of the best. this is my first time in colorado, i was really just going to stay with my aunt but once i heard about how great the skiing was, it became my ski trip. like i said, location isnt a problem. ive driven 4 hours before to go ski, so as long as it is in that mile range, im good. and i also want to go hiking and do some tours and stuff. outdoor things. any suggestion of where to go and what to do?Which place is better to ski in colorado?
if you want ski at go broke at the same time then ski were there saying, vail is a hole, it lives off it's name. it's full of rich people that go there... not to ski but to tell people they were in "Vail".

look up the Epic ski pass, the Colorado ski pass and the Summit ski pass. With each one you get lots of different resorts. they work out to be about the same price as skiing vail for 5 days, yet you get to for the whole year. (or the month of Feb!) also with the ski passes you earn "peak points" that you can put towards other activities that you want to do, dog sledging, snowmobiling etc.

have fun!
Hands down, VAIL, CO. Vail is gorgeous and the mountains are awesome there. There are many things to do including going to Beaver Creek, it is nice there. The Vilar center is great!Which place is better to ski in colorado?
Some areas in Colorado are destination resorts and others are part of a collection of ski areas to choose from.

The snow conditions are always a gamble. By January typically all Colorado ski areas are doing good but on the exact date you are skiing conditions may be perfect or just pretty good.

Telluride and Crested Butte are definitely two of the most scenic ski areas in the state but both are considered destination resorts and may not have as much 'extra options' as, say, Summit County (ABasin,Keystone,Breck,CopperMtn) and Eagle County (Vail,BeavCreek,Arrowhead) and Pitkin County (Aspen,Highlands,Snowmass,Buttermilk). Nearly all the ski areas in Colorado are scenic; some just more than others.

Those three Counties (Summit,Eagle,Pitkin) have more ski areas to choose from. From one central location you can hit up a different Resort or activity in a close proximity. There are plenty of sites and info for all of the ski areas in the state. Please take some time and research on the net. Personal preferences will vary depending on who's making the comment and what they value in a ski vacation most.

Some are close to Denver and the airport, some are far. Some have slopeside lodging and nightlife, some are more quiet and family oriented. Some get sufficient snowfall and then get whammies of storms while others get more consistent snowfall and don't get the big dumps. Some areas are loaded with steeps and moguls while others might have a good balance or even have mostly easy slopes.
