Good early season skiing?

Me and some guys are starting to plan a ski trip to Colorado in December, somewhere between the 13th and Christmas. We did Copper Mountain last year around that time It was ok, some runs were still closed though.

Just wanted to know if there was any resort or region that is known for early season snow.

So far we have mentioned Steamboat and Winter Park. Any suggestions will be helpful.Good early season skiing?
Anywhere you go before Christmas is going to be a bit of a gamble. Try looking at places higher in elevation such as Breckenridge %26amp; A-Basin in CO.

Alternatively, you could try Alta/Snowbird in UT or Mt. Baker in WA.
Early season skiing there is almost always a hit or miss type thing. Last year all the big resorts there like beaver creek, breckenridge, vail, steamboat, araphoe basin, etc. Got a huge dump in april, but december wasnt that great. Also, if you go too early, there wont be enough of a base to make for good skiing. If you can go in february or march, you'll probably have a great trip no matter where you go (but vail is famous for a reason)Good early season skiing?
Why not go to Europe. A number of resorts have good skiing in December. Saas-Fee, St Moritz or Zermatt are worthwhile in Switzerland, Tignes in France.
