has anyone lived there that had a infants. is it a nice community.Fort hood apartments?
Try using AHRN.com...they have all the listings for apts, houses for sale/rent outside of military installations. Since this website is for the military most of the listings show what discounts they give for military. It will be very helpful.

P.S. When my husband reenlisted my dad said try to stay in Harker Heights...where the best neighborhoods are.
I used Casa Realty. They set me up real nice.Fort hood apartments?
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT LIVE IN KILLEEN!!

I'm not sure about the quality of the Ft Hood apts but I know they are at least safe and you will have decent neighbors.

We made the mistake of living in Killeen. Our first apt was outside the Airfield gate, OMG WORST PART OF KILLEEN!!! We got broken into THREE TIMES IN THREE MONTHS, before we moved. THose were apartments but apparently everyone who lives in those houses had the exact same problem. So then we moved closer to the main gate in apartments which were pretty nice but at the same time still pretty shady. If you have a baby I suggest you move to Harker Heights... it's more safe, family oriented. Just DON"T LIVE OUTSIDE AIRFIELD GATE IT IS THE KILLEEN GHETTO!!! And to answer your q yes Ft Hood should be find just good luck getting in w/o having to wait...
We lived in Copperas Cove on the other side of Fort Hood. We rented a 3 br 2 bath 2100 sq ft house in a really good neighborhood for a bunch cheaper than many apartments in the Harker Heights area.

We really liked Copperas Cove. Good Schools, good city government, good police. The city motto was "A City for Family Living". Lots of churches, no bars.

Oh, we found the rental house thru ERA Realty in the Cove.

Good Luck
