I've spent many hours searching online for an oceanfront hotel in Virginia Beach that is not too expensive, and has a good rating. I also wanted a refrigerator and a microwave. The Diplomat is $159.00 including tax for an oceanview efficiency.
However the efficiency's are all smoking rooms. All the hotels I have seen online have stiff cancellation policies, so I want to make the right choice. Anybody stay there, or somewhere elese you would recommend?Virginia beach hotel: The Diplomat Inn, ocean front? Any non smokers stay in "smoking efficiency?" smell bad?
I live in Va. Beach and have been in almost all the hotels lining the Oceanfront. Your best bet is to try the Hilton Hotel. You can't go wrong with it! Whatever you do, please do not stay @ the Tropicana Resort Hotel. It was labeled America's dirtiest hotel. Honestly besides the Hilton and the new Ocean Club hotel, they are all the same. If you want something a little cheaper than the Hilton, I forgot the name of the hotel but 19th street runs right into it (Intersection of Atlantic ave %26amp; 19th street). It is very nice, probably the better of the others around it.
*SIDE NOTE*: At night, please make sure to park in your hotel's lot. All of the oceanfront becomes no parking after 2am (unless you are at a hotel).
