I am considering purchasing a timeshare affiliated with RCI for a very small amount. I understand the DVC is now affiliated with RCI and I want to know if a stay at a DVC resort ever comes available for non-DVC members on RCI.How difficult is it to trade an RCI timeshare for a week at a Disney Vacation Club resort?
This really depends upon the value of the timeshare that you now have. You may need to bank a few times before you're able to exchange with the DVC resorts.

How does the Disney Vacation Club work?
My friend's Mom is a member and my friend said we can use their points when we all take a trip ( me and 3-4 other friends). How does the club work? Like if we use their points do we pay anything or is everything pre-paid? What hotels can we stay at with the points or are they like assigned to one time-share? I'm so confused on how this works and my friend tried explaining it but I still got confused lol. ThankssHow does the Disney Vacation Club work?
The Disney Vacation Club is KIND OF (but not really) like a timeshare. With a typical timeshare, you purchase a real estate interest and you're locked into the same week in the same unit every year (unless you spend extra money to trade it through RCI or something like that).
With DVC, you purchase a limited time real estate interest, which gives you a set number of "points" each year. You can use your points to get villa-type accommodations at any of the DVC resorts, subject to availability. You can also "bank" half your points from the year before, and "borrow" half your points from next year, so that if you're wanting that three bedroom grand villa for the extended family, you can get it.
It is interesting to note that while other "deeded interest" offerings are owned by the buyer in perpetuity, the Disney Vacation Club is actually a lease. In 2047, the deeded interest that you've purchased reverts back to the Walt Disney Company. I'm not speculating whether that's good or bad, but merely that it's different from the other deeded interest things I've seen.
Your points can also be used towards "regular" Disney accommodations, Disney Cruise Line, and for a nominal fee, you can exchange your points for any other timeshare through Interval International or RCI.

How to get parents to stay Disney Vacation Club Members?
I've been going to Walt Disney World ever since I was young and have been there a lot of times and love it. My parents decided to put our Disney timeshare on the market and if it sells, we won't be DVC members anymore and we probably won't go to Disney very much or anymore. My mom wants the family to stay DVC members but my dad won't listen to her or me.How to get parents to stay Disney Vacation Club Members?
Remind them all of the benefits they can take advantage of!
1. Discounts on select dining, attractions, recreation and entertainment, including discounts on select Theme Park Annual Passes at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts!
2. A dedicated team of Disney Cast Members to help with all your vacation planning needs, including making reservations, or choosing a destination.
3. Disney events, from previews of Theme Park attraction to taking over an entire Disney Cruise Line ship, to a special Member's tour through Adventures by Disney.
4. Special Member publications that offer "behind-the-scenes" looks at upcoming Disney events and new Disney attractions.
I really can't help you to try to convince your dad otherwise. His reasons may have to do with the economy or the uncertainty of job security. Or similar to many intelligent people he may feel it's time to cut back and simplify. Whatever his reasons you should respect his decision and not try to question him. Do appreciate, though, the fact that you've had this wonderful opportunity to enjoy WDW as DVC members. By the way, you do realize the majority of the population doesn't have or never will have this privilege, right? Sorry I didn't give you the response you expected. But as a reasonable parent who makes weighty decisions more often than I care to, I have to back up your dad on this one.How to get parents to stay Disney Vacation Club Members?
Sorry honey but you are the child and they are the adults - they get to decide. There may be factors that you don't know about - perhaps your dad is worried about his job or finances or setting up a college fund for you.
One day you will have to make these decisions yourself but now - you should focus on the fun you have had and how lucky you have been to have that opportunity that many don't and will never have. Time to grow up child.
Remind them that they can take vacations around the world using their DVC points. The Disney Cruise Line is going to Europe and Alaska, and there is a DVC resort opening next year on Oahu!
Your Dad is just out-numbered!
Good luck.

What are the annual dues for when you have a Disney Vacation Club timeshare?
I'm debating whether to sell my timeshare. I pay $85 a month on annual dues, and am thinking it's a rip off. Any suggestions/comments?What are the annual dues for when you have a Disney Vacation Club timeshare?
DVC annual dues all depend on how many points you get each year. Per point it's $4.12 so if you have 200 point a year your looking at around $840.00
I am a bit confused? You asked what Disney DVC dues are and then you state that your dues are $85 a month, if you dont have a Disney timeshare and think you would save $$ by selling what you currently have and purchasing Disney you would be in for a shock...What are the annual dues for when you have a Disney Vacation Club timeshare?
timeshares are mucho expensive upkeep. Like nearly $1000/yr depending what you have.dominoes online coming soon to dvd

How many Disney Vacation Club points for a cruise?
A friend who is a DVC member has fallen on some hard times and cannot afford the trip this time around and has offered to let us use it instead.
We were thinking of trying something different and wondered how many points it takes for a cruise. Also was wondering what all the points cover for the crusie and what extra out of pocket we would have.
Thanks! How many Disney Vacation Club points for a cruise?
It's kinda confusing. There's many variables. As a general rule, cash vs. points should be scrutinized. DVC points can be significantly drained in lieu of doing DCL. It's not uncommon to be "pointless" for at least 2-yrs after such a trip. Some choose to use points for just 1-person, whereas the other person pays cash. This seems to be the more prudent decision.
Go here for much greater detail, including points required. You'll have to scroll down a bit until you get to your subject.

How long is a disney vacation club membership?
I'm interested in signing up but i woul like to know if it is a lifetime member ship or if there is an expiration date. How long is a disney vacation club membership?
Disney Vacation Club points do expire depending on the resort. The initial cost is over $16,000 for the minimum amount of points and there is a yearly maintenance fee. Mousesavers has a lot of information on the DVC here:
http://www.mousesavers.com/dvc.html
It is a huge investment that should be investigated fully before purchase.
It varies depending on which Resort you buy into. Ownership in a new resort/vacation club offering can be as long as 50 years. Ownership in some of the older vacation clubs will be shorter based on the original offer date. As part of your ownership you can sell your ownership (after Disney is given first right of refusal) , you can rent out and you can even leave it in your will to heirs. How long is a disney vacation club membership?
We definitely want to get a DVC membership, and even if it's only 50 years, that's plenty for us. I have looked into this a lot and can't wait until we make our purchase. Something you might want to consider is a DVC resale. You can make a smaller initial purchase, such as only 50 points, to really get an idea if it's for you. They are much cheaper than going directly through Disney, and you can buy a smaller contract. Check out http://www.dvc-resales.com/, they are a very reputable reseller. Also go to the DVC forum on disboards.com and read that for a while. You get to read other people's trip reviews, hints, ideas and suggestions. It's a great way to get many of your initial questions answered.

What are the AVERAGE monthly payments for disney Vacation Club?
We goto Disney once a year..is the DVC worth it??? i know they said it being around 17,900 but wondering how the payments work out and what the deposit might be.Every time i talk them they cant give me a straight answerWhat are the AVERAGE monthly payments for disney Vacation Club?
Before you commit to purchase, make sure you have reviewed the point charts to determine how many annual points you'll need for your vacation based on when you travel and what type of villa you will need. DVC currently requires a minimum initial purchase of 160 points- at a cost of about $104. per point. Their buyer incentives vary quite a bit- which probably is the reason you aren't getting a concrete number. Also- the interest rates I've seen range from around 10% to 14%. The down payment is also variable based on the incentive you choose (some provide you with down payment credit)..
You'll also want to check the resale market as well. It is possible to buy a resale DVC ownership from prices starting around $60. per point. Financing is not always available for resale, but the savings often makes up for that! Resale contracts also don't require you to purchase as many points. You can often pick up contracts as small as 25 points. Small contracts are great for just a few days lodging, or for people who only want to go every second or third year. Again, find some point charts to be sure the points you buy are sufficient for your travel needs.
Currently, Fidelity Real Estate Agency- Timeshare Division, is the recommended resale broker of Disney- but you can find a number of resale brokerages who specialize in this specific timeshare program. What are the AVERAGE monthly payments for disney Vacation Club?
We bought 150 points almost 5 years ago. We put $5k down and pay $151 per month, plus $52 monthly fees. If you go to Disney once a year, it is DEFINITELY worth buying, I did the math, it does pay for itself in 5-6 years. I would recommend going directly through the Vacation Club, there is no "middle man" that way! You also get discounts on many things. My only regret was we didn't buy more points, but we are planning on adding on very soon!

Can you stay at a Disney Vacation Club resort even if you aren't a member of DVC?
My family is interested in Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas - Kidani Village at Walt Disney World because a 2 bedroom is large enough for our group without having to get more than 1 room, however, I am curious whether or not we can make a reservation for that resort since we aren't part of the DVC.
Thanks in advance! Can you stay at a Disney Vacation Club resort even if you aren't a member of DVC?
Anyone can make a reservation at at an of the DVC resoerts, but it is VERY expensive if you're not a member. A room starts at $340 there. You could try the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs at $295 or The Animal Kingdom Lodge-Jambo House at $240. You could get 2 adjoining rooms at the Pop Century at $82 each per night. If money isn't a problem, then Kidani Village is spectacular. We stayed there last year. We're DVC members. Have Fun!
One can stay at the DVC without being a member however, it is a little more expensive but worth it in the long run. Check out this website it may helo to answer some questions for you

Also, the last time I stayed at one I was not a member , but I was there for a site inspection, and it was amazing. Also go to the Disney.com website and they may also offer you some better advice. I hope this somewhat answers your questions.

I would look into buying directly to see what incentives they could give you. You can then look at the resale market. There are numerous websites that offer "DVC timeshares", though there not traditional timeshares. These will be much cheaper than buying direct.aw restaurant ashton kutcher cheating

Is the Disney Vacation Club a good idea?
My family and I visit DIsneyland 2 or 3 times a year and stay 4-5 nights per trip... We always stay at the Grand Californian Hotel... The Vacation Club seems to be aimed at Disney World... Is it worth it for Disneyland? Is the Disney Vacation Club a good idea?
For you, the Vacation Club would probably be a good idea. For those who visit at least once a year, and always stay on Disney Property at the nicer hotels, the vacation club works out well.
It's a one time payment of roughly $18,000. That sounds insane at first, but you get 160 vacation points a year. That 160 points gets you a week at the nicest hotel in Disney World or Disneyland. In your case, this would be a week at the Grand Californian in a Deluxe Studio. Points change if you stay in different rooms, different resorts, or for a different amount of days. You could split points between trips, or save them up to use at other places around the world. You don't just have to stay at Disneyland. You could use your points in DisneyWorld, or at 500 other resorts around the world.
If each vacation costs $3000 for rooms, which is an average estimate for a week at a high end resort, than you'd have your vacation club paid off in 6 years. After that, you'd have a vacation week for life, with just mainenance fees each year. Those are $66 a month. Since you travel so much to Disney, this might be something for you to look into.

I need info on Disney Vacation Club when traveling to someplace that is not a Disney Resort such as Europe?
There is plenty of information on the DVC when looking to go to say Disney World or Land or any of the amusement parks, but none on when you want to travel to say Europe or Africa etc. What can you tell me about the points, money, scheduling, and anything else you can think of.I need info on Disney Vacation Club when traveling to someplace that is not a Disney Resort such as Europe?
Looks like you will need to log-in on their website as a member to get these kinds of details. All I could find was that a trip to Vienna for 5 days was 160 points, as an example. If you are a member, login for details. If you are not a member and you are just wondering, hit the Contact Us link and let them call you with this info.

Is it worth it to buy Disney Vacation Club?
I heard that the start-up fee for Vacation Club is around $17,000 for a family of four. I think that's crazy talk, but I'm not even sure if it's true. My family goes to Disney World about every year, and we like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge (a deluxe hotel). Any ideas? Thanks! Is it worth it to buy Disney Vacation Club?
Generally speaking the $17K figure is correct.
Bear in mind that those dollars give you the right to use a certain amount of DVC points EVERY SINGLE YEAR for up to 50 years into the future.
With 160 points you could spend up to 11 consecutive nights in a Savanna View Studio Villa (which is comparable to a standard hotel room) at the Animal Kingdom Villas. That's 11 nights every single year.
Exact point usage varies depending upon season, day of the week, resort, the category of room booked and other factors. That's just one example. We've used our DVC points to book 1200sq ft Two Bedroom villas which sleep up to 9 guests.
All DVC ownership does end at some date in the future (date varies by resort.) Some would view this as a negative but it can also be a positive. For many people it means not leaving a potentially unwanted timeshare behind for heirs to deal with. It also means that you (or your heirs) won't be paying for maintenance and upkeep on resorts that are 80-100 years old.
There are cheaper ways to buy DVC other than paying the $17k. DVC will actually sell a contract as low as 100 points at select resorts. That should cost under $10,000. Or you can go through a resale broker and purchase an even smaller contract.
Although the terms aren't particularly enticing, DVC will also finance a direct purchase. The initial purchase of 160 points will run you about $250 per month when financed over 10 years. After the 10 years you only pay the annual dues which presently run $4-5 per point.
The initial purchase is a big obligation to meet. However, once that amount is paid off you're vacationing for pennies on the dollar. Going back to my original example, 160 points could get you 11 nights in a Studio villa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge / Villas. With annual dues of $5 per point, the out of pocket expense for those 11 nights is only $800 or $72 per night. Cash guests won't get a Savanna View room for anywhere near that price.
That's ridiculous pricing. Unless that is the only place you ever want to go, I know of a club that is only $2,000 to join and that's for life. You can go anywhere anytime 5 star all inclusive. I joined this one: http://www.morvacations.com/default.aspx?UserName=joesuccess
If I could go back and do it all again I wouldn't do it.
Take that 17k and divide it by how many years you would be an owner of the property. Then add on the yearly maintenance fees. That is how much you are paying to own the right to stay at a certian property.
Why not take that same money and stay at different locations around the world.
I would rather have the freedom of staying where I want when I want vs. having to pay maintenence fees every year regardless of if I use it or not.
It is a decision to weigh carefully because it is not something you can get out of easily.
I would also recommend buying it from a resale vs an original deal, you can usually find a better deal and get the same benefits.
Especially with the down economy there are people probably trying to get rid of them to get out from under a monthly payment they can no longer pay.
I think it's too expensive.
The current price to purchase ownership in the DVC, from the DVC, is $112 per point with a 160-point minimum. You use these points to "spend" on your vacation accommodations. The time of year, the resort chosen and the size of the unit will determine how many points are necessary. There are also annual dues.
Something to think about: unlike traditional timeshares, your Disney Vacation Club membership, for most properties, ends on January 31, 2042. Membership at Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa will end on January 31, 2054, membership at the Animal Kingdom Villas will end on January 31, 2057 and the new Bay Lake Tower ends in 2060. Although you are buying a "real-estate interest" and your purchase is actually deeded, your ownership ceases to exist after these dates.
Check it out very carefully before you decide to make the "investment".
:o)
You can buy resale contracts and they are exactly the same as buying direct from Disney. Disney's are more expensive because you have to buy in a minimum amount of points of, I believe, 160 points. Look at resale prices for places such as http://www.dvc-resales.com. You can buy smaller contracts to fit your budget, and add on as you need. DVC is a lot to consider, there are a lot of ins and outs. I suggest you spend some time on www.disboards.com at the DVC section, read around a lot you can get a lot of information to really see if it's right for your family. However, if you are already staying at a Deluxe resort, then it probably is right for your family. But go to disboards and ask any questions you may have there, the people who go there are really the experts.
The buy-in is very expensive. The price is per point. There are usually some incentives for buying through DVC. The minimum puchase is 160 pts through DVC. You can buy fewer points through resale. It is no more an investment than any vacation is. Cash wise, is it worth it? After about 6-7 years, you end up on the positive side. That is, as long as you would otherwise vacation at Disney every year or every other year while staying in deluxe accomodations.
Check out the point charts to see how many you would need:

Prices keep going up. I paid $107/point for my Bay Lake Tower contract. The current dues are $3.53/point. Dues are reassesed every year.
I love DVC. Also, I have never met an owner who didn't love it. If you contact DVC, they will send you a free, no obligation packet.
EDIT: Here is another Yahoo!Answer about DVC. It has some good info.

Is it worth it to buy Disney Vacation Club?If I could go back and do it all again I wouldn't do it.

Where all can you use Disney Vacation Club points?
Besides the hotels in Disney World/ Disneyland, and Hilton Head/ Vero Beach, where else can you use your vacation club points?
We've used them at Windsor Court in New Orleans and The Grove Park Inn in North Carolina, but are there other places you can stay with them?Where all can you use Disney Vacation Club points?
The DVC is building a new resort in Hawaii. You can also use points for cruises and Disneyland in Paris, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.
DVC is now using RCI as their exclusive timeshare exchange (as of January 1, 2009). This was changed because there are more opportunities for nightly stays with RCI (according to Disney). For locations, check: https://dvc.rci.comWhere all can you use Disney Vacation Club points?
"Can I use my points at other resorts?
The DVC is part of Interval International (a large, worldwide timeshare organization). Your Disney Vacation Club points can be traded for accommodations at many of the Interval Internationals resorts nationwide. You can also use your points to stay at other Disney resorts, as well as the DVC locations at Vero Beach, FL and Hilton Head, SC. and a number of other vacation opportunities such as the Disney Cruise Line and special Adventure programs."
You might have to call the Disney Vacation Club to use them through Interval or you can check their web site:

You are so lucky, and I think you will be very happy! I am not a member, but I want to be one so bad. I have been researching it and can't wait to buy. You and your parents can get a lot of information of the site www.disboards.com under Vacation Club. That's where I have done most of my research. Everyone is so nice there and will answer any of your questions.public house chicago carolina skiff

What is your experience/opinion with the Disney Vacation Club?
We just came back from Disney World last week and I saw the advertisement for Disney Vacation Club everywhere we went...Please, can anyone who has purchased this give me your honest opinion and as much detail on how this works...Also, we are big advocates of the Disney Dining Plan...Are we able to purchase this plan as a Vacation Club member?...I ask only answers from people who have actually experienced THIS particular vacation club...not just any old timeshare, since it may be different. Thanks in advance! What is your experience/opinion with the Disney Vacation Club?
I'd have to disagree w/jlcolles on the deed. I just came back from there and sat through a DVC presentation. It was my understanding that the ownership is deeded and can be passed on. It does however revert back to Disney, usually 50 years after the resort opens. The revert date depends on the resort and in some cases has been extended by Disney.
We owned another timeshare property which we sold. We were very close to buy into the DVC because it has everything we wanted in a timeshare. Plus you know it will be quality with Disney. However, after doing the math it wasn't a good fit for us since all we would be paying for is lodging. Everything else is another expense (park tickets, food, transportation, etc.).
I would like to add that the sales presentation was 1st class and it truly was no pressure. True to their word, they never asked us for an answer while we were there. Then they treated us to a free picture and ice cream before giving us a van and driver to take us anywhere on Disney property we wanted to go.
My parents actually checked out DVC when it was opening and though the perks were fantastic and they liked the fact that it was owned by Disney, they chose not to purchase because unlike other timeshare the Disney property is owned buy Disney and can not be deeded to your children if something should happen to you. And also doesn't the property revert back to Disney in like 2040? We bought a time share at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club and really like it. I would suggest no matter what you buy I'd stick to DVC, Hilton or the Marriott's timeshares. These company have a recognized name. What is your experience/opinion with the Disney Vacation Club?
I've looked at it before but have always come to the conclusion that it wasn't right for us. If you visit Disney at least every other year and usually stay at a moderate or luxury resort, then I think it's a no brainer.
The biggest drawback for me is the annual maintenance cost. If you purchase enough points to go every other year, you still have to pay for the maintenance fee. The maintenance fee adds up to more than we usually pay for our off-site resort + food so it's never made sense for us.
I have to admit, though that the new resort Bay Lake Towers (BLT) is very appealing. I would love to stay in a room overlooking the Magic Kingdom!
If I were to buy into it, I think I would look at the resale market rather than buying from Disney directly. You can purchase fewer points (which means lower maintenance fees) and from the looking I've done, you can get some good deals. Also, you can get into home resorts that you normally couldn't get into. Just Google (er Yahoo) for DVC resale.
You can buy the Dining Plan, I see DVC guests with the dining plan on their room key all the time. I don't know if you get a discount or not. Yahoo answers isn't the best place to find actual members, but I know of two places where they hang out; disboards has a DVC forum at http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?fo鈥?/a> and there is one at yahoo groups as well http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dvctalk/ .

What is your favorite Disney Vacation Club Resort?
What is your favorite Disney's Vacation Club Resort in Walt Disney World? I know that the Grand Californian in Disneyland, CA is great to! Out of the DVC Resorts in Disney World, FL, which is your favorite? I've stayed at all of them and have a hard time choosing a favorite! My faves would have have to be Bay Lake Tower, Beach Club Villas, and the Villas at Wilderness Lodge! (:What is your favorite Disney Vacation Club Resort?
I am not a member of DVC (although I have been considering it), but I will say that I would really love to stay in Bay Lake Towers. It's gorgeous, every time I ride the monorail to Magic Kingdom I kind of have a Walter Mitty moment when I see it and daydream about staying there. :)
My family %26amp; I are DVC members. We've stayed at Beach Club, Saratoga Springs, Kidani Village %26amp; Bay Lake Tower. We have enjoyed staying at all of them.
-Beach Club-Great to be so close to Epcot. Lovely setting. Nice sand bottom pool.
-Saratoga Springs-Quiet area. Nice to look out over golf area.
-Kidani Village-Beautiful rooms. Fun activities. Great to see animals. Fabulous restaurants.
-Bay Lay Tower-Great view of Magic Kingdom. Lovely lounge area. The Studio rooms seem rather small %26amp; so does the pool. Also, no check in desk.
It's difficult to decide. If I could only choose one, I'd go with Kidani Village. What is your favorite Disney Vacation Club Resort?
Mine is the Boardwalk. I love the atmosphere of the boards, and the ability to walk right down in the morning and take a morning walk or even walk over to EPCOT. The Grand Floridian is now going to be having DVC resorts, probably worth a lot of points. They have to shut down the spa to do it.
Staying in one of the two dozen Disney World hotels immerses you in the magic throughout your vacation. But which one is right for you? It was once much easier to decide; decades ago, there were only two Disney World hotels to choose from.
I'm not in the club, but my best friend's family is and i'm going to disney world and on the Disney Dream with them next summer! I think we're going to stay at the Beach Club, so that's my vote!
Until recently, I would've said Bay Lake Tower. It's beautiful and the view is amazing. Then I stayed at Kidani Village Savannah View. Can not be beat. Gotta try it.

Where is the best place to find Disney Vacation Club Points?
I am interested in either buying Disney Vacation Club Points, or renting Disney Vacation Club Points. Where is the best source of information?Where is the best place to find Disney Vacation Club Points?
Great place to read all about it: http://allearsnet.com/acc/dvc.htm
They also have a recommended company to use if you are reselling/buying points.
There are two sources that I would recommend. First go right to the source, Disney. They have a Vacation Club website that is very informative and very easy to use. I was able to get most of the info that I needed when I bought into the Vacation Club. Second, I would recommend the disboards. The disboards is a website dedicated to all things Disney travel, including Vacation Club questions, resort reviews, travel tips, restaurant reviews and much more. I put both links below.
If you are seriously considering buying into the Vacation club, I will tell you that I highly recommend it. It is the best investment that my wife and I have ever made, and for a couple of reasons. Not only are we saving money on travel and able to take the kids to Disney more often (not to mention the ability to stay in the nicer on site resorts), but the points can be used at 500+ other locations outside of Disney. My sister went to Hawaii on her points, and stayed in a 2 bedroom suite over looking the ocean. The flexibility is just unreal, and they make things so easy. If you would like more info, let me know. I can even give you the number of our rep, she is great!
Hope this helps!!Where is the best place to find Disney Vacation Club Points?
Another place to look at is at wdwinfo.com. They have forums on everything Disney, even if you are looking to rent points from DVC members. If you are looking to buy points, there is a website called dvc-resale.com. If you are unsure I would go on the forums first and find out the info before purchasing.

How much is the Disney Vacation Club Annually?
We're looking into being Disney Vacation Club members and were wondering, how much is it annually? We know that there is the initial cost (for us 16,640, 160 points) but would we have to pay that every year? How much is the Disney Vacation Club Annually?
No. that is the total purchase price for the points.
You get the 160 points each year -- the $16640 is the price in full, to receive 160 points every year for the length of the contract.
the only thing you pay yearly are your annual maintenance fees -- which you pay so much per point -- the exact amount depending on the resort you own at. So if you have a 160 point contract, and the maintenance fees are $4.20 per point, you pay $672 each year.
So, say you have $16640 in the bank -- you write out the check to Disney Vacation Club, then the only thing you owe each year are the maintenance fees. They increase a little each year, but not much.
Financing, well, that is another story -- if you don't have the money to pay in full, you can finance through Disney (or your bank) and make payments -- I believe if you finance through Disney, the interest rate is something like 10% interest rate, and the lowest payments are somewhere in the $190/month range for 10 years.
You can also buy resale -- do a google search for Disney Vacation Club Resale, and you'll find the companies that do resale -- that's when someone who currently owns a DVC contract decides they no longer want it (for whatever reason -- like divorce, money issues, etc) and sell -- they go through a resale agent, and sell at a lower price than Disney sells for. Granted, the savings isn't huge, because if it goes too low, Disney will buy the contract back via their exercising their right of first refusal, so they keep the prices from plummeting and the 'value' depreciating too much.
A benefit of resale (in addition to the lower buy-in price) is that you don't have to get 160 points -- resale contracts are sold in smaller increments, as low as 25, and you can buy at any of the DVC properties, as opposed to just the ones Disney has open still.

Disney vacation club?
Hi everyone. How are you?
I just had a quick question. My family is thinking about joining the disney vacation club. We go to Disney about every year. I was wondering about how much is the monthly fee and is there maintenes fees at the end of the year.Disney vacation club?
I am not a DVC member, but have thought about it. My understanding from talking to the DVC cast members is that there is not monthly fee charged by the DVC. Any monthly fee would be based on your financing of the membership. Sort of like a mortgage. The maintenance fees differ based on your home DVC resort and do increase yearly. I do not remember is your taxes are included in the maintenance fees, or if they are charged separately.
If you are seriously thinking about the DVC, and if you have not done it yet, stop by one of the DVC kiosks. They will give you more info about the club than you could ever wish for.
Hope this helps.Disney vacation club?
Initial purchase: The current price to purchase ownership in the DVC, from the DVC, is $104 per point with a 160-point minimum.
Interest: When purchasing through the Disney Vacation Club, financing the cost of membership is an option. The DVC offers one, three, five, seven and 10-year plans.
Annual Dues: Annual dues are paid yearly and are based on the amount of points owned. The 2007 fees ranged from $4.12 per point at Saratoga Springs to $5.63 per point at Vero Beach.
Exchange fee: A fee of $90 is charged when booking a vacation through the Member Getaways program, and a fee of $75 is charged when booking the Concierge Collection or the Disney Cruisethings to do window tint

Virginia beach hotel or house and attractions?
I'll be getting married in May and we are thinking about going to Virginia beach. Anybody know of a nice 1 bedroom preferably or 2 beach house? On the beach or close to it and close to alot of attractions. Or a nice hotel with a decent price that's close. What are some really good attractions or things to do there? Thanks a bunch!Virginia beach hotel or house and attractions?
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Anyone know of a nice place to stay at Virginia Beach?Virginia Beach Hotels
The holiday Inn Sunspree resort is great for families(closer to the north end of the beach). Other alternatives include the Tropicana hotel, Shereton, Marriott etc. Try to stay on the boardwalk and closer to the 22nd St since thats the main area where all the activities and action is. There is a beautiful view of the sunrise from the ocean view rooms, that is if you are a morning person!Virginia Beach Hotels
You can try hotel search in http://www.AmericaCheapHotels.com where you can read hotel reviews, see photos and its physical locations through maps ...

Virginia Beach Hotel Recommendation...?
Hi,
I am going to Virginia Beach for Memorial Day weekend. I have never been there before and would appreciate some advice from someone who is familiar with the area please. I am a young 35 years old and am travelling with my girlfriend, friend and his girlfriend. We are looking to sit on the beach, eat seafood and party a bit.
1. HOTEL: I am willing to spend between $150-$250 a night and think I want to be on the beach. Should I be near the boardwalk? What area is best? Any specific hotel that is not too old? I am open to ideas... Norfolk?
FOOD: Where do we NEED to go for seafood? The best please.
BARS: Is there a bar we must see? Maybe a popular beach bar or a rooftop bar?
ACTIVITIES: We are pretty much chilling but if there is something you feel we should do while there please let me know.
TRAVEL: I think I am training it from NYC. Is the train station in town?
FIREWORKS: Are there fireworks for Memorial Day? My girlfriend loves them!
Thanks a lot!!! Any advice is MUCH apVirginia Beach Hotel Recommendation...?
If you're looking to be in the middle of the action for the weekend, within a couple blocks of nightlife, etc, you want a hotel on Atlantic Ave between 17th and 24th Street. Ocean Sands comes to mind. Norfolk is 20 minutes West of the Oceanfront by car, so not the best option if you're focus is on the beach.
I'm not sure what interests you, but here's a couple ideas:
If you head into Norfolk, you can tour the USS Wisconsin battleship for free at Nauticus (Waterside Dr @ Main St). Then walk along the riverfront through Town Point Park. There's a ferry across the river to Portsmouth for only $1 if you enjoy being out on the water. Round-trip is about 30 minutes.
South of the VB Oceanfront is the Virginia Aquarium (formerly Virginia Marine Science Museum, which is what most of the locals will know it as), and that's not a bad stop.
Very likely that there will be fireworks on the Oceanfront for Memorial Day.
Train access to Virginia Beach sucks. Amtrak claims they service Norfolk, but the tracks end in Newport News and you have to take a shuttle bus to the Amtrak depot in Norfolk. I don't recommend it.
For future reference, you can usually fly from Laguardia to Newport News on AirTran for as little as $100 round-trip if you purchase in advance.
The drive isn't terrible from NYC - less than 7 hours if you take a smart route. If you drive, DON'T use the New Jersey Turnpike below exit 9, you will sit for hours, especially on a holiday weekend. Get off exit 9 and get on Route 1 South. After about 20 miles, you'll run into I-295... Use 295 South all the way to Delaware. Then pick up Route 13 South (New Castle / Dover), which will merge with DE 1 after a few miles... Stay with 1 until you get through Dover, and then there's signs for Norfolk all the way down Route 13 from there. You'll cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel about 3 hours South of Dover ($12 toll)... once you've crossed the bridge, take the very first exit, and turn left on Route 60 East, which will take you right to the VB Oceanfront.
Enjoy the trip.Virginia Beach Hotel Recommendation...?

Virginia Beach hotel w. jacuzzi?
Does anyone know a nice hotel in Virginia Beach that has in room jacuzzi. I want to take my boyfriend and our friends down there for his birthday but I would like our room to have a jacuzzi to make it a little more romantic. It doesn't have to be oceanfront just with an in room jacuzzi and hopefully I won't have to break the bank paying for it, if you know what I mean. Any suggestions???
Also, the rates would be for July 08' (I know it's a bit early but we have other things planned before then so I would like to get this one out of the way)Virginia Beach hotel w. jacuzzi?
check spicitytravel.com. type in your city in the hotel section and it will bring up all the hotels with star ratings, full descriptions and guest comments.

Virginia Beach hotel suggestions?
We are going to Virginia Beach on the 19 in aug. for a Jonas Brothers concert, and we want a hotel that is near the beach but doesn't have to be on the beach. It's for 7 people, one being a baby, two adults, and four children. THINK CHEAP! Thanks in advance.Virginia Beach hotel suggestions?
The one thing about Virginia Beach and basically anywhere when you get down to it...you get what you pay for.
Let me explain it this way.....I went to one hotel which wasn't on the beach but near. The price was VERY cheap (it was about $35 a night...back in 1992). However the hotel had ROACHES all over the place, the bathroom stunk and it was just a horrible experience.
My advice....you don't have to go to the Hilton but at least find a decent hotel on the beach (such as Quality Inn, Days Inn...there was one called the Mariner (or something) that was good.Virginia Beach hotel suggestions?

Virginia beach hotel: The Diplomat Inn, ocean front? Any non smokers stay in "smoking efficiency?" smell bad?
I've spent many hours searching online for an oceanfront hotel in Virginia Beach that is not too expensive, and has a good rating. I also wanted a refrigerator and a microwave. The Diplomat is $159.00 including tax for an oceanview efficiency.
However the efficiency's are all smoking rooms. All the hotels I have seen online have stiff cancellation policies, so I want to make the right choice. Anybody stay there, or somewhere elese you would recommend?Virginia beach hotel: The Diplomat Inn, ocean front? Any non smokers stay in "smoking efficiency?" smell bad?
I live in Va. Beach and have been in almost all the hotels lining the Oceanfront. Your best bet is to try the Hilton Hotel. You can't go wrong with it! Whatever you do, please do not stay @ the Tropicana Resort Hotel. It was labeled America's dirtiest hotel. Honestly besides the Hilton and the new Ocean Club hotel, they are all the same. If you want something a little cheaper than the Hilton, I forgot the name of the hotel but 19th street runs right into it (Intersection of Atlantic ave %26amp; 19th street). It is very nice, probably the better of the others around it.
*SIDE NOTE*: At night, please make sure to park in your hotel's lot. All of the oceanfront becomes no parking after 2am (unless you are at a hotel). They do this to make all the club hoppers go home.Virginia beach hotel: The Diplomat Inn, ocean front? Any non smokers stay in "smoking efficiency?" smell bad?

Virginia Beach hotels -- under 21?
I'm having a hard time finding a hotel that allows under 21 for under $100 per night near the boardwalk. Unfortunately, I am 19 years old and my boyfriend is 20 but he will turn 21 at the end of the week on the week my boyfriend and I plan a vacation in Virginia Beach. We could wait a little later after he turns 21 but it will mean the price would raise and my boyfriend wouldn't want to miss his brother's graduation.
It will be just us and we wouldn't want to party and tear up the rooms.

Go to VAIL COLORADO.
Type in Vail Co in google or yahoo. and find website, been to most resorts and I KNOW VAIL is the BEST by far. It is like an alpine european town and you don't need a car, you can walk everywhere on the heated brick roads or take a free hybrid bus, like a disney in mountain style! You should research most on vail, nearest airport is eagle or denver. (Ski in/Ski out)vocelli augsburg college

Cooper, winter park, monarch mountain, vail, brechenridge, copper mountain, powderhorn, snow mass, aspen mountain, buttermilk, or steamboat. if you dont mind, can you please tell me why? like outdoor activities, snowfall, best areas of skiing, prices, mountains and views, etc.
the price doesnt matter, but it would still be nice to know.
there are just so many nice places to visit, i cant decide
and since ive never been, i wouldnt know which areas get the best snow, have the biggest mountains and the best views, etc.
im only 15, and i can ski pretty well.... im still deciding though. i see pictures of these places and it only makes it that much harder to decide. never realized how beautiful colorado was.
been to canada twice, so im kinda used to there being mountains all over the place= high expectations i guess. any help here?
oh, and seeing as this will be my only ski trip for the year, id kinda like to visit the best ski resort there is. best views, biggest mountains, most snow, least crowded on a week day, outdoor activities like tubing, mountain climbing, hiking, tours, etc.
thanks very muchWhich ski area in colorado do you prefer and why?
My personal favorite of the resorts I have skied in Colorado is still Keystone. I had more fun trying to ski all of that mountain than anywhere. There is so much to cover, and definitely all types of runs shoots and trees. Each of the three faces is reached by gondola and has a lodge of some sort to eat and warm up at. The front face has almost a mile of trail from top to bottom. It seems almost endless even when tucking from top to bottom. The little village like area at the bottom has many expensive trendy shops but is still cool to check out. Definitely my favorite.
Breckenridge is an ok resort not really my taste. It has one of everything but the mountain is definitely geared toward the beginner to intermediate skier. It offers lots of large open easy pitched runs.
I have never been to Winter park but it seems like every Warren Miller film shows a party going on in winter park. Can't be all bad if Warren Miller staff parties there.
I have never skied steamboat but I have partied there over the fourth of July. The town is amazing in the summer and if it's half as good in the winter I'll be looking forward to returning in the winter to tear it up.
Loveland appeals to a lot of people but the last time I was there I felt like it was the poor man's ski resort. I'll admit that it has been ten years since I was there so things could be much different but last but i wasn't overly impressed.
Good luck with the search it's all a personal preference.Which ski area in colorado do you prefer and why?
steamboat... varied terrain. plenty of bumps, plenty of trees, plenty of cruisers and groomed... nightlife good. mainly, it happens to be just a regular town with kick-a$$ skiing....

What is there to do in denver? places to ski in colorado?
im going to denver this winter and ive never been there before. im a only 15, so please dont recommend any clubs or anything. i love to ski too and cant figure out where the best place to ski is. my aunt told me that snowmass, aspen mountain, and butter milk were the best she skiied at. but i looked online and ive found so many really nice places to ski at. ski cooper, winter park, breckenridge, vail, monarch mountain, copper mountain, and steam boat. i really didnt realize how many of these places there are to ski at. and i really need help deciding cause i cant make up my mind. i want to go to 2 different places to ski while im there, and then a few places just to sightsee, take some tours, and do out door activities. which places are best for skiing and which are best for out door activities. just because i love to be in and around the snow and i could probably spend all day looking at the views. i love nature, especially mountains. and yes, ive asked this question way too many times, but i like to have something to do and researching for my trip is a lot of fun to me. ive seen pictures for all of these places and im they look fantastic! the views, the snow, everything.... i just cant decide what is better. what gets the most snow, has the best skiing, and the best views. if you dont mind, please list what has what? like for example: snowmass-best snow-not best skiing-more outdoor activities... that was just an example, but something like that please
thanx in advance..... btw, my dad said we could go anywhere and the price really isnt an issue when it comes to prices of ski gear rental, lift tickets, etc. What is there to do in denver? places to ski in colorado?
Oh Damn.
Well...
X-Games are at Buttermilk two weeks after your trip, so their might be problems getting a room. I grew up skiing Snowmass, and the other 3 mountains right next to it; Aspen, Aspen Highlands, %26amp; Buttermilk. This area is known for it's adult nightlife.
I lived in Summit County for 3 years and worked for Vail Resorts. Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Loveland all within 15 miles of each other. Breckenridge has dogsledding, fly-fishing [yes in February]; Keystone has nightskiing and night-tubing, Copper Mountain has the Woodward Training Facility. There's also backcountry skiing off the Continental Divide on Loveland Pass.
Other Areas I've Skied:
Winter Park-Mary Jane It's okay, but no village atmosphere.
Eldora It's okay, but it's a mountain, not a resort.

Oh Yes! The Mountains are the greatest at winter time! good places to skii are places like breckenridge, keystone, copper and vail. What is there to do in denver? places to ski in colorado?
Denver was a small cow town 150 years ago. Since then it has grown and grown and groan. It has pro sports, Nuggets, Rockies, Broncos, and some pretty good XC skiing part of the year if it snows there. For good skiing you must leave town and go to some of the resorts in Colorado. Vail, A-basin, Copper, Aspen, and many more. Be prepared for pow that is deep and dry some days and just dry others. Later in the year there is some good fishing and hunting in the mountains. Have fun.

this is my 5th time asking this question but i never really get the answer im looking for. i need peoples opinion on where to ski in colorado that is within a 2 to 3 hour range of denver. the places that ive gotten that sound pretty cool and im one who loves scenery so as long as there are really big, amazing mountains. im good where ever i ski. i love nature. anyway, the places ive gotten are copper mountain, vail, breckenridge, loveland, winter park/mary jane. i heard that vail is incredible and i just saw the pictures for it. so please, i need serious opinions for this. im going in february but i like to get my information asap and i want to make sure i make the best choice possible when i go.Opinions of best places to ski?
Steamboat, Colorado - hands down.
Amazing views, breathtaking scenery, huge glades - but most importantly the deepest powder most skiers ever lay eyes on, let alone get to ski. Find yourself a damn good pair of pow skis and you'll take it to the mountain all day. But, seriously speaking, it gives you a chance to do some serious thinking, and the chance to learn about yourself...where you want to be...what you are truly capable of accomplishing, and lots of other questions people think about for years. And like I said about the views, you will never forget them. Not to mention they have an epic terrain park and the longest superpipe in north america. Make the right choice - ski steamboat.

I've only seen Truman Show, Grinch, and Horton Hear a Who but I love Jim Carrey and I love those movies (besides Grinch - I don't even think I saw all of that movie it was weird). What do you think of these Jim Carrey movies?
IMMA HUGE JIM CARREY FAN!!! Horton Hears A Who=my all time favorite
I've seen about half of them and think that he is a very talented, funny comedian.
I've seen: The Mask, Dumb And Dumber, Truman Show, Grinch, Lemony Snicket, Dick And Jane, Yes Man, and Horton Hears A Who. Pretty good movies.
Dick and Jane is my favorite.
I've seen The Mask - it's very exaggerated but the role calls for that and Jim Carrey's acting is very appropriate for the film. Though thinking back on it, I wouldn't watch it again though I'm sure when I saw it it was funny.
Batman Forever - Better acting on his behalf. The Riddler is a more complex character and he does well in it. The movie itself is also very entertaining. I recommend,
Liar Liar - Funny family oriented movie. He acting has again improved in this film.
Truman Show - Not his usual overly comedic role. Yet he still brings comedy to the movie. A great movie.
Bruce Almighty - again, his acting just getting better and not playing a super exaggerated character. The concept of the movie is funny and it's fun.
Eternal Sunshine - Brilliant movie. He's brilliant in it as well.
Number 23 - slightly more serious role for him. The movie is eeeeh. The concept is a stretch. But Jim does fantastic playing the role he's been given.
Dick and Jane - funny, entertaining.
I've seen...Ace Ventura 1%26amp;2 (like 20 times each), the mask, dumb and dumber, liar liar, grinch, Bruce almighty, lemony snicket, dick and jane, and yes man. I loved him in ace for his comedic and just all around goofy factor. The mask was good, I thought he did a really good acting job. Dumb and Dumber, although I thought the movie was kind of stupid (no pun intended), I thought a lot of his scenes were very funny. Liar Liar is amazing. I have seen that movie so many times, and I love his character, the serious side, the father side, the funny side, and just all the different personalities he portrays in this one. The Grinch...awesome movie! Watch it all the time, even when it isn't christmas. Bruce Almighty was a really good movie that showed emotion, but of course his comedy. Lemony Snicket wasn't my favorite movie, but I loved his synical character that was also funny. Dick and Jane wasn't my favorite movie, but I still loved him in it. Yes man was a good movie, but I really didn't laugh that much in this one.
Earth Girls Are Easy--I've only seen it once, years ago. I remember it as being funny but really corny. 6/10
Ace Ventura 1--7/10. funnier that it had any right to be
Ace Ventura 2 --3/10 unspeakably boring
The Mask--5/10 not so much funny as a vehicle for an out-of-control ego
Dumb and Dumber--8/10 funny, funny, funny. great buddy movie, but the scene that really makes it is when carrey plays it straight in their apartment talking about ekeing (sp?) his way through life. that comes out of left field.
Batman Forever 7/10--great villains, funny movie, entertaining
Liar Liar 6/10--funny but forgettable
Truman Show--9/10 excellent film, much better than the movie with a similar premise EdTV that came out at the same time. the kicker is when you realize you're not going to find out what happens to truman after he leaves the "building"
Me, Myself and Irene--7/10
Grinch--4/10--it just didn't work. too long. the premise was stretched too thin. the makeup and special effects just weren't worth it
Bruce Almight--7/10 fun film
Eternal Sunshine--10/10. one of my absolute favorite romantic films of all time. loved it
Lemony Snicket--6/10. cramming three books into one movie made it feel rushed and confused and the ending scrapped together.
Number 23--5/10. forgettable, unsatisfying

What were your experiences like skiing in colorado?
going to colorado for the first time. confused on where i should go for skiing. please give full details. whats the best ski area? (ex. snow mass, buttermilk, breckenridge, monarch mountain, cooper, copper mountain, vail, steamboat, aspen mountain, winter park, powder horn, wolf creek, keystone) what things can you do there(outdoor activities), how much snow does in get in february, best hotels, whats the town like, what are the views like, what are the mountains like, etc....What were your experiences like skiing in colorado?
Ski Magazine just published their list of the top resorts in their October issue - I was reading it at Barnes and Noble yesterday. Check that out - those reviews were compiled from many more respondents than you're likely to get on here.
I'll tell you about the ones I've been to.
My uncle and aunt (forest ranger and former ski instructor) took me to Monarch and Wolf Creek. I enjoyed both a lot in terms of skiing. They are out of the way, which means uncrowded, which I also consider a plus. I'm not much for nightlife, and I was 17 at the time, so I can't really comment there, but I'm guessing there probably is none.
Crested Butte is great. It's a good combination of remote, but still stuff to do. If you want cheap, you can fly into Gunnison, CO and take the bus from the grocery store parking lot up to CB for $1 (double check that before doing it - it's been a few years since I've been there). The base area is growing, and the town of CB is just a couple miles away with more activities there.
Winter Park has traditionally been a local's place, with not a lot of lodging, dining, etc. That is changing...there's a lot more there than there was just a few years ago. There is a lot of terrain variety, and good bumps if you're into that.
I'm not inclined to go to Vail, Keystone, etc. Too crowded. If I'm paying $2k or whatever for plane tickets, hotel, lift tickets, food, etc. I want to spend my time skiing, not waiting in a lift line for an hour each time. I realize once you make your way to the back the crowds aren't nearly as bad, but still...I'm kind of turned off.restaurant week nyc vegan diet

I have been to Colorado many times to ski, and in a lot of super markets.. they sell cheap tickets to everywhere. You"ll save like 20 bux I think which is awesome. I think the grocery store I went to was a King Sooper somewhere in Denver, but I think they are all over the place there.

What are the chances of getting altitude sickness?

i get anxiety/panic attacks sometimes and i could get one because i'll probably be afraid of getting the sickness
and i heard that you are supposed to breath deeply or something as you go up and are up there cause it gives you shortness of breath and i get that when i have attacksWhat are the chances of getting altitude sickness?
Have you ever had jet lag? Thats more what altitude sickness is like, more of a nausea and swimming head kind of feeling. It wont really affect the way you breathe until you start exerting yourself a bit. I dont think anyone is more or less prone to getting it though, but im no doctor. When i lived there, i would get it when driving thru the mountains, because you change altitude so quickly and so often. But it goes away, if you start feeling real run down and tired and achy and sick, rest for a while, maybe take some pain reliever if you have a headache. You should feel better before long. What are the chances of getting altitude sickness?
Just eat, drink plenty of water, don't worry about it, You'll be fine.Have a great time.
People rarely get altitude sickness. It's mostly dehydration
im going to copper mountain over spring break and i am afraid i will get altitude sickness, im 14 and im skinny
i get anxiety/panic attacks sometimes and i could get one because i'll probably be afraid of getting the sickness
and i heard that you are supposed to breath deeply or something as you go up and are up there cause it gives you shortness of breath and i get that when i have attacksWhat are the chances of getting altitude sickness?

Copper mountain ski pass?
any one know if these also work in the summer for mountain bikingCopper mountain ski pass?
This was asked a few months ago (about another place) - there was no answer. While I don't know for certain, I'm going to say no. The reason being that lift tickets are for a season not for a year. In your case I'd simply call them to find out.

Beginner snow board? size? board? bindings? etc.?
I'm really wanting to get into snowboarding (but i've never gone before). I live in Coloardo, so i'd be going to like Winter Park, Vail, Copper Mountain, maybe Aspen etc. just to give an idea of the terrain I'd be in.
What board is best for beginners? Should I invest more in a good beginner's board, or better bindings/boots?
I'm like 5'10.5" @ 144 lbs, 10.5 shoe size....what size snowboard size does that make me?
ThankssssBeginner snow board? size? board? bindings? etc.?
Most people rent their snowboard/ski equipment if it's their first time, but its all up to you. It all depends, if you've been doing other board sports and enjoyed them, and if you progress fast or not. If you've been doing other board sports and enjoyed them and continued to still be playing the sport, then it wouldnt not be the worst idea to be investing in your own snowboard equipment. Board size varies from your weight, height, and riding style. If you don't know what size would fit you, you can always ask someone at your local shop, basically if you're starting out, you want a smaller board for more control. A freestyle board would run anywhere from your nose/eyebrows to your chin/collarbone, and an all-mountain/alpine board would run anywhere from your eyebrows to your forehead.
Most people think that beginners should buy the most cheapest low-end beginner/crap board on the market. Let me tell you, that is basically completely bull, although you do not want to get the very best signature model board if you're a beginner, you don't want want the crappiest board either, and thats when whether you're a fast progressive rider or not comes in, if you progress fast, then go ahead and buy a medium/above average board, but if you progress very slowly, if might not be a bad idea to buy cheaper boards (not necessarily crap). There are 3 types of snowboards, Freestyle (half pipes), Free ride/All-Mountain (powder snow), and Alpine (carving at high speeds). People tend to choose freestyle boards as their beginner board since it has a shorter length which allows better control, and has more flex, but overall it's still all up to you, and comfort. Some good brands are Burton, Forum, Ride, K2, DC, Salomon, Stepchild, and Roxy (mostly for girls). Try finding your equipment in a professional snowboard shop, rather than shops that carry multiple sports equipment (ex. Sports Check).
As for boots and bindings, you really DON'T want to buy these equipment cheap. Boots are definitely a very important factor in snowboarding, if you own a $500+ board but your boots and bindings are like $50, more likely that your ride down the mountain may not be the best experience. Again, I'm not saying low priced products suck, but I'm just saying, if you're on a tight budget, go cheaper on the boards, spend more money on boots. When you are looking for boots, make sure you try on at least 5+ pairs before you decide to purchase them, or you could really regret! Make sure the boots are truly comfortable. If you're still growing, I would recommend renting boots, since they need to be real fit and snug, and if you don't ride much the size may be too small for your feet within a couple months. If you do decide to buy them, make sure to find boots that you don't feel pressure points in, and fit real comfortable. (Keep in mind that the boots tend to get a bit bigger as they break in, so don't buy boots that are too big)
As far as bindings go, they normally come in 3 or 4 sizes. Small, Medium, Large, X-Large. Try to purchase bindings that come with Metal Ratchets (Thing that straps your foot in), due to the cold weather and the abuse cause by the riding, if you have a plastic ratchet, your bindings could easier crack or break.
Oh! And don't forget goggles, there are different types of lenses for different kind of weather/condition/time of day. Some popular brands that make goggles on the market today are like Spy, Electric, and Oakley's. Make sure there are no gaps, and don't have it too tight either, just tight enough so that air doesn't go through the goggles, or this could be very uncomfortable.
Overall, its personal preference and comfort, no matter if the world's #1 snowboarder tells you oh, this xxxx is the best! The product may still not be your best choice, so look around, do your homework (research). And have fun purchasing your snowboard equipment!
Hope this has helped you (sorry for the gigantic post, I tried to cover most of the stuff I can think of).
Snowboarding is tough at the begining. i wanted to quit the first time i tried so dont buy anything until you knwo forsure you want to do it. but the best attitude for it is to just stick with it. DONT BUY AYTHING until you get a little bit better . RENT from a place once or twice so you know will like itBeginner snow board? size? board? bindings? etc.?
okay, 1st of all, DON'T BUY! u might HATE snowboarding!! rent ur 1st time. when u go 2 the store, the people there will help you with EVERYTHING! make sure u tell them this will be your first time because then they will usually make the board a little shorter, which is good. u can get another board later, when ur better and jst return the board u rented, it saves a lot of money.

Best snow tubing in Colorado?
Looking for a great snow tubing experience for a big group of adults in Colorado. Most of us are in Denver, so Telluride or that far south is a probably out.
I see that there is tubing at Copper Mountain, but $15 for an hour?? We would like to do this for atleast a half day. The only place I was able to locate online that had full day rates was Beaver Meadows Resort up near Red Feather Lakes (Fort Collins). After looking at photos and a video on youtube, it's obvious their hill is tiny and we'd have to be plastered to really enjoy it. Plastered is not on the to do list, as we'll have to drive home....
Anyways, anyone have a suggestion??Best snow tubing in Colorado?
go up to fraser its about 7 minutes from winterpark. Behind the Alco theres a ginormas tubing hill, but go to the first one because theres two...the second one sucks. oh and go at night its awesome they blast music and have light it's dope. i think its around $8 to $10 an hour cuz its like a local buisness. trust me...ive been going there my whole life its the bombb:)
I know you said that you don't want to go far away, but the best place I have been to is the Grand Mesa near Grand Junction. It is about 3 1/2 hours away, but you would not regret it, especially since it is free. There are two awesome places; Old Powderhorn and what we used to call Suicide Hill (when I was a kid). I know it is out of the way, but that is my suggestion.Best snow tubing in Colorado?
Vale
Why not bring your own tube and hit Carter Park in Breckenridge, which has a great walk-up, sled-down hill. And...it's free with plenty of parking. Also, Breck gets lots of snow so the conditions will be good. Of course, the drive isn't bad at all from Denver. You could tube and stop for lunch or drinks on Main Street all in one day, with the drive factored in. Carter Park is on the south end of High Street, adjacent to the elementary school. If you need to buy a tube, you can usually find them at the City Market in town.

What color and type of paint should I get?
I want to paint the inside of my front door. We are painting the hallway a burnt orange color called Copper Mountain by Behr. I'd like to find a dark Walnut brown/black color for the inside of the door. What type of paint should we get (I think it's a wood door) and does anyone know of a good color? Preferably by Behr. What color and type of paint should I get?
What color is the outside of your door. Ideally, it would be nice to have them the same color. I would suggest using a no VOC paint so you do not add hazardous chemicals into your home. Here is a link on how to find no VOC paints.

I'm sure the original paint was a satin and if its a front door-an oil based paint-most of them are metal these days. If yours is wood, then you could use an interior grade satin in a waterbase. I would wipe it down with liquid sandpaper on a rag or sponge (clear-cool stuff, not expensive) It forms a chemical adhesion between the existing paint and the new. Or give it a light going over with fine sandpaper to give it some "tooth" for the same reason. It should be the same color as the other doors and molding in your home. What color and type of paint should I get?
AFTER REVIEWING BEHRS COLOR WHEELS, I must really reccomend something from their ColorSmart Premium collection just for the fact of its great durability and shine.
Since 260-D7 Copper Mountain is in the 260s color range...

and a rather dark hue... why not just keep it to a darker tint but with the same fundamental color spectrum!?
How about something provacative and bold like 290F-7 Wooden Cabin? look at their compatability next to each other in two seperate windows... In my opinion... STUNNING!

Remember to click on the pallets to exapnd them enough to get a great view...
Try a deep burnt umber-type of red. This will give you an analogous look on the deep side of the color spectrum. The link to their color viewer as well as others is below.

Creepshow III was awesome!
I would not rate any film as GOOD or BAD. Every technician and actor has worked to the best of their ability, according to the funds available. Yes, If you have to rae, rate the director first - he is the captain of the Ship, and then see whether he has done a good job or not. All films are Good - it is the Captain who can steward it badly.

Have you ever skied/snowboarded before or been to Colorado? How was it?
During winter break I skied and snowboarded in Colorado. I went to copper mountain and breckenridge.
It was so fun- the best experience I've had!
I love skiing. Where I come from- Florida- it never snows. I was born here too, and that was the first time I've seen snow.
Florida is actually kind of ugly besides the beaches and resorts. It's flat, muggy, and kinda boring.
Colorado has a beautiful landscape! I flew into Denver and it was really pretty. The mountains were too. It was really different for me.
Ahh, I guess I just miss it. I'm going there again in a month though ^-^
If you know any good ski resorts, let me know. :)
Oh. I don't really have a question. xD
Well, just tell me your experiences with snow, skiing, and snowboarding. And colorado. I'd like to hear stories and opinions. I'm really bored x)Have you ever skied/snowboarded before or been to Colorado? How was it?
OMG! Another flatlander who's gonna move out here the minute they're old enough!

Bicycle Law Rights to Freeway Shoulder?
Bicycles are allowed to ride the shoulder of the freeway when there is no reasonable alternative. During the six months of winter, I am unable to commute on the Recreation Path that is closed due to snow and avalanche danger. Therefore, I must ride the shoulder of I-70 freeway in order to commute 16 miles a day to work. I live at Copper Mountain Village and must commute through Officers Gulch between the Gore Range and Ten Mile Range of mountains in Colorado to reach the Town of Frisco. Recently, a CDOT snowplow driver attempted to detain me on the shoulder of the freeway to instruct me that I should not use the freeway. I am looking for the legal citations concerning bicycle legal rights to the freeway shoulder.Bicycle Law Rights to Freeway Shoulder?
Many freeways have signs clearly indicating whether bicycles are allowed on any particular section. In most places, there are regular streets that are a reasonable alternative, and are signs at the freeway entrances indicating that bicycles are prohibited. In a few areas where the freeway is the only route for a short distance, there are signs at the end of the section where bicycles are allowed saying where the bicycles must exit. An example of this can be seen on California Route 23 between Thousand Oaks and Moorpark.
In any case, if a snowplow was in use, then there was snow on the freeway. Regardless of what the law may or may not say, it is no safe to ride a bicycle on a freeway with snow, because cars (illegally) go normal freeway speeds (without slowing adequately for the snow) until they skid off the road and onto the shoulder, striking any bicycles that happen to be there.
IN my State, there are signs on the Interstate entrances that say " motor vehicles only" " no motorcycles under 150 cc" ( i think ) Who, in their right mind would even think of riding a bicycle on the freeway ??Bicycle Law Rights to Freeway Shoulder?
Check with your DMV or your Highway Patrol and see if that driver had the right to Detain You.

Opinions of best places to ski?
this is my 5th time asking this question but i never really get the answer im looking for. i need peoples opinion on where to ski in colorado that is within a 2 to 3 hour range of denver. the places that ive gotten that sound pretty cool and im one who loves scenery so as long as there are really big, amazing mountains. im good where ever i ski. i love nature. anyway, the places ive gotten are copper mountain, vail, breckenridge, loveland, winter park/mary jane. i heard that vail is incredible and i just saw the pictures for it. so please, i need serious opinions for this. im going in february but i like to get my information asap and i want to make sure i make the best choice possible when i go.Opinions of best places to ski?
I highly suggest Winter Park. It's the closest in driving time to Denver, the only trouble getting there is the drive over Berthoud Pass, but it's a well-maintained pass that was just renovated several years ago, so really it's not too much of a problem. Winter Park has many small areas sprawling over several hills/ridges, and also has a high-speed 6-pack chairlift that goes to the very top. If you look at a map (at www.skiwinterpark.com) you'll see there's many things for everybody. If you're into black trails, Mary Jane is absolutely littered with them. If you like the blues, the Parsenn Bowl area is a great choice. It's all on there.
Copper mountain is a nice resort also. I haven't been there recently enough to give a nice description though.. it's just a tad longer of a drive away and is directly off of I-70.

Stuff to do in denver? skiing in colorado?
im going to denver this winter and ive never been there before. im a only 15, so please dont recommend any clubs or anything. i love to ski too and cant figure out where the best place to ski is. my aunt told me that snowmass, aspen mountain, and butter milk were the best she skiied at. but i looked online and ive found so many really nice places to ski at. ski cooper, winter park, breckenridge, vail, monarch mountain, copper mountain, and steam boat. i really didnt realize how many of these places there are to ski at. and i really need help deciding cause i cant make up my mind. i want to go to 2 different places to ski while im there, and then a few places just to sightsee, take some tours, and do out door activities. which places are best for skiing and which are best for out door activities. just because i love to be in and around the snow and i could probably spend all day looking at the views. i love nature, especially mountains. and yes, ive asked this question way too many times, but i like to have something to do and researching for my trip is a lot of fun to me. ive seen pictures for all of these places and im they look fantastic! the views, the snow, everything.... i just cant decide what is better. what gets the most snow, has the best skiing, and the best views. if you dont mind, please list what has what? like for example: snowmass-best snow-not best skiing-more outdoor activities... that was just an example, but something like that please
thanx in advance..... btw, my dad said we could go anywhere and the price really isnt an issue when it comes to prices of ski gear rental, lift tickets, etc.Stuff to do in denver? skiing in colorado?
Almost any ski areas are great but for a 15 year old a lot of kids ski Loveland and and p winter park and if you want you can look up Amtrak and ride the train to winter park and the sights are great because you are on the train and they go through the mountains. Another fun thing to do in Denver is ice skating up at evergreen if the lake is frozen and most of the time it is. Hope this was some help and have fun while you are in our state.Stuff to do in denver? skiing in colorado?
well feb 14th the zoo is free. just get there early because it gets packed.
