Which cruise is better? Bahamas, Bermuda, or Caribbean?

I'm a sophmore in college and I'm planning a surprise cruise for my boyfriend, possibly soon to be fiance. Which destination is better? Carribean, Bermuda, or the Bahamas? I'm planning it for June/July of 2010 for approx. 5-9 days.. Should I book now? or wait until it is closer to to next June?I want this to be special and fun for the both of us. My boyfriend is the romantic and fun sort so I was looking into the Carnival and Disney Cruise Lines.

PS: We have been together for 3 years and I believe the closest port of call would be BaltimoreWhich cruise is better? Bahamas, Bermuda, or Caribbean?
Hi Kat,

What a great idea to surprise your soon-to-be fiance! Congratulations in advance =)

I suggest a cruise to the Caribbean, it's what I've done and it was just incredible! Plenty of sunshine and there was a lot to do (considering your BF is into doing fun things with you, you should find the onboard activities as well as many of the stops available to be exciting.)

There are some rip-offs when it comes to cruises and you'll want to make sure you've checked up on the cruise line before deciding to go with them. You can spend a lot on a cruise when it's not necessary. There are often cruises going extrordinarily low cost...you just need to know where and when to look.

I recommend taking your time to find some cheap Caribbean cruise deals online. Researching a bit before putting your money on anything is a good idea as these deals are going all year round.

I hope this helps and all the best with your surprise trip! I bet your BF will be very impressed when he realises what you've done! Have tons of fun!!
Norwegian cruise line all the way... srry i love the Caribbean because it is nicer that the bahamas. haven't been to bermuda but heard it was nice. NCL (norwegian Cruise LIne) is my favorite cruise line because its not very structured and you can do as you please. im sure a sophomore in college wont want to be told when to eat lunch breakfast and dinner... my grandparents have been on hundreds of cruises (not exaggerating) and they love norwegian. they have been on cunard (Queen mary 2) royal Caribbean princess Holland american and they love NCL they have nice amenities too. go to the bahamas. the farther south you go the better and more ports you can see... think about flying to miami... you can go on there new ship the norwegian Epic if u leave from miami.Which cruise is better? Bahamas, Bermuda, or Caribbean?
My sister just took a cruise to the Bahamas. She said it was AWESOME!!! Beautiful and comfortable cruise. Said they treated her like a princess! LOL! And the weather was beautiful off course compared to where we live, (Chicago). Soo I don't know about the other places but Bahamas seem cool :)
First, in case you hadn't considered it, here are the age restrictions. I don't know how old your boyfriend is but this might be helpful to read.

I know as a sophomore in college I wasn't 21 so it's definitely something to consider and important that your boyfriend is of age.

Then personally I hate the Bahamas. It's overly expensive. In my opinion there is nothing in Freeport and not worth going. Nassau is just...expensive. A lot of the same straw markets. Very little of interest and definitely not the good deals of the "Caribbean". My favorite ports of call are St Thomas and Cozumel. They have the most to do and the best deals.

If I were you I would not go out of Baltimore. Going out of the north Atlantic is more days at sea and rougher. It is a better plan to drive down to Florida or fly down. You can get better prices b/c there is more competition out of Florida. You have Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, or Canaveral. You have most cruise lines. Going out of Baltimore will leave you only about one choice a month.
