Yes - a great place to visit. If you have kids, there are some fun things to mix in with the visit so it is not all about flowers. The butterfly house is great, and the various floral trails are all worth doing. None of them are dull or boring. Here are some things to do to add to your trip:
1. Look in to staying at FDR state park in one of the cabins. I short 5 minute drive to the gates of Callaway, it is a less expensive place to stay, and the cabins are VERY fun. Fireplaces, clean, kitchens, and you get a great view. Here is the website:

2. Go to Pine Mountain Animal Park. Very fun, even with just adults. You drive through and see wild animals who will come up to your car and you feed them. All kinds of animals - from the large to the small. One of the best things to do around there and very unusual %26amp; fun. Hint: rent their truck so you dont have a rhino or buffalo hit your car. A serious must do!

3. Rent the bikes at Callaway. No better way to get around and see the park, and they are lots of fun! You can take them anywhere and it is the most popular way to get around, even if it is hot.
4. Go to Westville since you will be close anyway. This is a 30 minute drive south to a town of 1850s GA homes, churches, businesses and farms. It is very worthwhile, inexpensive and cool. Think Little House on the Prarie, only better. People show you how they blacksmith, cook, live and work.

5. Inside Callaway, make sure to stop by the chapel in the forest area. Very cool. Take fruit in to the butterfly house (banannas) so the butterflies will land on you and give you some great pictures.
HAVE FUN!

Do you have any suggestions for a Callaway Gardens visit?I have been to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. I had a wonderful visit and there is plenty to see and do there including Natural Trails, Recreation, a Butterfly Garden, and Special Events. My recommendation is to go on a weekday during the middle of the week (like Wednesday or a Thrusday) and go on a day when it does not rain because you will be able to see more of the gardens on a sunny day than on a rainy day. For more information, you can to to Callaway Gardens website at http://www.callawaygardens.com/Callaway.
As listed below, Callaway is a great destination just for the natural beauty. Their Festival of Lights at Christmas is also a great time.
Nearby - Warm Springs - FDR's Little White House
Americus - Habitat for Humanity HQ and Global Village
Plains - visit Maranatha Baptist Church and have President Jimmy Carter teach your Sunday School lesson
Enjoy!
check www.callawaygardens.com. I like biking on all the paved trails thru the many acres of forest and gardens ...
Callaway Gardens is gorgeous! At certain times of the year they have a butterfly house where you can see butterflies up close. They rent bicycles, and of course the gardens themselves are fabulous. There is a chapel...cannot remember the name of it...but it is in the gardens and it is gorgeous! There is a very nice hotel across from the gardens with lots of great amenities...Callaway Garden Resort. A friend of mine was married there in October and it was the prettiest wedding I have ever been to.
