Please only answer if you can give me real feedback, and not smarmy remarks. I need help here.
I have an audition with Disney Cruise Lines next week to serve as an Entertainment Host for guests. I passed the phone interview and will do the audition with other candidates in front of the Disney Recruiting team. I have tons of guest experience, media experience and 2 excellent reference letters. I am comfortable with the scripted material for the audition but there is ONE part that I cannot do:
The dancing. They want us to do the Hoedown Throwdown/Hannah Montana dance in front of the panel, dancing with the other audition candidates. And then on top of this we're expected to teach a 30-second portion of the dance to the group as if they're Disney Cruise Line guests. The clip is available online, but I tried learning the moves and can't. They're too fast and its hard to learn them when the people teaching you on screen say "move left" and it looks like they're moving right.
The Disney Recruiters did tell us not to worry about being professional dancers, and to just have fun and smile, but come on! If I mess this up, I'm worried they will pass on me to join they're team at sea. I'm willing to learn if someone can teach me, but this seems impossible. What are your thoughts? Are Disney recruiters lenient on this sort of thing? Please, any advice will be much appreciated. Why can't I get the JOB?
Try your hardest and always smile. it's only one item on a long list of things that they're looking for, and if you pass the others then you're well worth the slight training you'll need to get it perfect. good luck, and try not to be nervous. Why can't I get the JOB?
Start dancing and practicing. You have the time or make the time to practice.
