Please before judging or making rude remarks, read my ENTIRE question and answer accordingly.
I have an audition with Disney Cruise Lines coming up, and one of the requirements is that we learn the Miley Cyrus dance "Hoedown Throwdown". I have been practicing and practicing and know the moves but CANNOT FOR THE LIFE of me do them in the speed Cyrus's song goes. IT's just too damn fast. How are they expecting us to keep up with the fast pace of the song??? Every time I try to do the moves (eg "Zig Zag, across the floor...") I stumble as I try to keep up with the pace and rhythm.
The audition packet did say "We don't expect you to be professional dancers, just have fun with it and laugh and learn" but come on! Its Disney. Do I call the people up and tell them the dance is too hard- but I can do all the other things they need me for? (eg act, host). The Job I'm interviewing for is that of Entertainment Host.
If I don't get this job, I will kill myself. Please help me.Will I get the JOB? Please Answer!?
Dear Peter,
First of all, please don't kill yourself no matter what. If you don't get the job, it's not the end of the world. Something better might be waiting for you.
Having said that--
This is a cruise-ship, after all, not a Broadway play. Have you ever been on a cruise ship? I HAVE.
Passengers don't even want professional shows--they don't want to sit there behaving like a polite audience that has to be quiet while the show is going on. Passengers want to chat with each other over their meals and LAUGH OUT LOUD AND HAVE FUN. Who cares if a dancer trips and falls on a rolling ship, as long as the dancer has a good sense of humor? Then you and the passengers can laugh about it together. You're on the 'same side'--you're all land creatures who are suddenly finding that their legs have turned to rubber.
Disney Cruise Lines wants fun employees who they can trust will mingle with the passengers in a fun, friendly way.
So Peter, don't worry about keeping up with the fast pace of the song. When you go in for the audition, don't complain about the speed (let someone else make that mistake). Let them see that you can take it all in good humor. Smile for them, laugh for them, chat with lots and lots of people and let them see you doing it--because that's what they want--someone super-friendly that loves to chat and entertain people on-stage AND off-stage.
In fact, they may have just speeded up the song on purpose BECAUSE they want entertainers who have fun and laugh, NOT super-skilled dancers who worry about the steps.
It sounds to me like the key words, like the audition packet said, are " JUST HAVE FUN WITH IT AND LAUGH AND LEARN."
Good luck! The audition will be a good experience for you because something good will come from it for you No Matter What. I promise you that.

If you want the job, keep practicing until you get it and like they said have fun with it.Will I get the JOB? Please Answer!?
I guess that's going to depend on your interview skills and if you are the best, most qualified person for the job. There is no way to know what the outcome will be. I can tell you to go in there and do the best darn job of your interview/audition that you can...what happens happens...if you get it great, if you don't, learn what you can from the situation and go on to the next thing in your life. Good Luck!
