Hi. I am going on a cruise to Alaska in the Inside Passage. I am sailing with Princess Cruise Line.
I have only sailed with Disney Cruise Line before. The ship I am sailing on is the Princess Sapphire.
What is princess like?
I am the type that wants to know everything before I go.
How is the food?
Is it Family Friendly? The kids clubs/Teen Clubs?
Is it likely that I will get Sea sick on the Inside Passage?
What are the things for entertainment?
*If you know, how much does it cost for the internet Cafe they have?
Thank you! Any additional info you have on the cruise ship and Alaska is appreciated!Princess cruise Line, Alaska?
I've cruised with Princess 10 times with # 11 coming soon. The Sapphire Princess is so far my favorite ship. The teen center is awesome with so many activities like pizza parties, talent contest, dancing and karaoke too. It is not likely you will get sea sick in the inside passage, but getting there may give you problems. But it is not vary bad at all. Just bring with you some Dramamine just in case and you will be fine. Also bring a warm hat and gloves as sometimes it can be quit chilly, especially if your going to Glacier Bay or Tracy Arms. I can't remember how much the internet cafe cost as I pretty much get it free because of being a frequent cruiser with Princess. Oh, the food is to die for, even simple stuff like the hamburgers and hot dogs which are outside near one of the swimming pools. They also have soft serve ice cream near the pool too. I've been to Alaska twice, and my next cruise is back to Alaska for a third time. So, I guess you can say, I LOVE ALASKA!Princess cruise Line, Alaska?
We sailed on the Sapphire down into Mexico. (It splits between Alaska and Mexican destinations)
The food is great. We don't like to do the formal dining, so we eat at the buffet, which has some great food (and most of it is the same as what is served in the dining room).
It is family friendly for older kids (5 and up). Teens should have no problems, in fact they have their own area on the ship for dancing and hanging out.
I doubt you will get seasick, unless the weather becomes horrible.
The entertainment is (ahem!) awful! But the Liberace act is not to be missed!! You will laugh, laugh, laugh, and the sets are great! And of course there are art auctions, gambling, etc. Bring a book or two, just in case.
The internet Cafe was about $40 for me for about 30 minutes.
Dress warmly. Even in summer, Alaska is about 50 degrees. Colder when the wind blows.
